Do I need a Mac?

Yes. v404 needs a Mac with Apple silicon running macOS 26 or later, and an iPhone running iOS 26 or an iPad running iPadOS 26, or later. It runs on the Mac, so the Mac has to stay on, awake and online. There is no version that works without a Mac.

Do I need my own model account?

Only if you choose Your key. With Stellar, Intermediate or Supermassive, the plan pays for the models, so you need no account with a model provider. With Your key, you add an API key from a provider such as OpenAI or Anthropic and pay that provider for what v404 uses. Live voice uses OpenAI's Realtime service, so it needs an OpenAI key.

Is the pre-order refundable?

Yes. Your first year starts the day you get access. Refundable any time before then. On Stellar, Intermediate and Supermassive, your first month starts the day you get access, and the same refund applies.

When does the Mac beta ship?

There is no date yet. The Download for Mac button on the home page will work once it ships.
